Fairfield, CT - The Sacred Heart University cheerleading team took part in the American Liver Foundation's annual life walk for a fifth consecutive year. The annual event has become a tradition for the SHU cheerleaders to show their support for liver wellness. The event was held September 18th along a five mile course in Stamford.
The purpose of the event, one of many liver walks around the country, is to raise liver disease awareness and reach out to people with the disease. The proceeds from the event go towards critically needed liver disease research and education. The Liver Life Walks around the country have already raised over $46,000 towards research. The program was also designed to educate the public about the importance of the liver and to support its wellness.
