Pioneers Host Robert Morris on Think Pink Day Saturday

Setting the Scene... After delivering Head Coach Ed Swanson his 400th win on Tuesday night, the Sacred Heart women's basketball team looks to extend their seven-game win streak on Saturday afternoon against the Robert Morris Colonials. The Colonials, on a two-game win streak, are looking for revenge after the Pioneers stole the 70-66 win earlier in the season coming back from a 12-point deficit in the last minutes of the game.

Series Notes... This is the 27th time in program history the Pioneers have played Robert Morris
- The Pioneers lead the all-time series, 19-7
- All 26 meetings have been as Northeast Conference rivals
- SHU has battled Robert Morris in the NEC Tournament four times, winning twice and losing twice
- The Pioneers lost the NEC Championship to the Colonials in 2007 by just two points, 68-66

Think Pink!... Saturday, the Sacred Heart Women's basketball team is celebrating Think Pink Day for breast cancer awareness. The team will be wearing pink shooelaces and pink warm-up shirts to bring awareness to the cause.

Last Time Against the Colonials... The Sacred Heart Women's Basketball team had a huge come from behind win against Robert Morris earlier this season. Morgan Merriman led the Pioneers with 20 points as a late 18-4 run boosted SHU to the win over the Colonials in the Charles L. Sewall Arena on January 21, 2013. At the low end of a 12-point deficit with nine minutes left in the game, the Pioneers started a 18-4 run with Ericka Norman's (Chino Hills, Calif.) triple from the top of the arc. With 1:29 Blair Koniszewski (Vienna, Va.) tied the game at 64 with a trey, and a minute later Merriman gave Sacred Heart its first lead of the game with a jumper. 

Pioneer Deliver Swanson 400th Victory... Twenty-two years and two months after hist first win over King's College, Sacred Heart Head Coach Ed Swanson collected his 400th career win Tuesday night as the Pioneers defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 80-48 at home in the William H. Pitt Center. Swanson collected his 100th win at home against Assumption 68-52 capping off SHU's six-game win streak. Just over six years later, he got win No. 200 on the road at Mount St. Mary's as Sacred Heart topped the Mountaineers 64-58 on January 17, 2004. The win was win No. 4 of a 10-game win streak. Once again against the Mount, he reached the 300 win milestone at home on December 8, 2008 with the 65-52 victory.

Seven Game Streak... Sacred Heart's 80-48 win over Fairleigh Dickinson Tuesday night, improved their win streak to seven games, their longest streak since they swept the Northeast Conference in 2008-09. It all  It all started with handing the Saint Francis Red Flash their first conference loss of the season live on NEC-TV 71-50, followed by the late come-from-behind 70-66 win over Robert Morris. Since then, Sacred Heart has swept the last three weekends.
