NEC Basketball "Social" Media Day Returns to Barclays Center
Somerset, NJ -- What do you get when you combine Northeast Conference (NEC) hoops, social media and the state-of-the-art Barclays Center in Brooklyn?
The answer is NEC Basketball "Social" Media Day 2.0 on October 22 as the league's 10 member institutions descend on Barclays Center for the second year in a row to raise the curtain on the 2013-14 season.
The #NECinNYC event is designed to enhance the fan experience with the proceedings to air live and in HD on NEC Front Row beginning at 11:00 a.m. NEC Media Day will also air on delay in condensed form on Fox College Sports (FCS) in early November.
"The inaugural NEC Basketball "Social" Media Day was a huge success for the league, our coaches and fans," said Noreen Morris, NEC Commissioner. "We are thrilled to return to Barclays Center to kick off the 2013-14. It's an amazing venue to showcase our men's and women's basketball programs. Follow us live on NEC Front Row and interact with us on Twitter!"
Along with every NEC men's and women's basketball coach, schools will also bring one player from each team to Barclays Center. Players and coaches will be interviewed during the broadcast and made available to media attending the event. NEC preseason polls and all-conference teams will also announced, and a number of the league's top bloggers will engage in a hoops roundtable discussion on the coming season. Longtime NEC commentators Dave Popkin and Tim Capstraw will host the event.
