Setting the Scene... The Sacred Heart women's basketball team looks to snap its four-game losing streak and claim its first AAvictory Sunday afternoon against the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights. Meanwhile, Rutgers comes into Sunday's contest on a three-game winning streak having beat Wagner 83-53 Thursday night.
Series Notes... This is the first meeting in program history between the Sacred Heart Pioneers and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
SHU Against the AAC... The Pioneers are 0-3 against American Atlantic Conference members.
- Sacred Heart fell to Cincinnati 75-42 on Dec. 18, 2001, and have dropped two games to Connecticut; first on New Year's Eve 2006 82-40, and on Dec. 5, 2010 86-32

The Head Coaches... Jessica Mannetti is in her first season as a collegiate head coach when the Pioneers tip-off in 2013-14. She comes to Sacred Heart after spending the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Hofstra University on Krista Kilburn-Steveskey's staff. C. Vivian Stringer has built an illustrious career highlighted by countless milestones, including her enshrinement into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In 42 seasons on the sidelines, Stringer was the primary architect in transforming three programs into national title contenders ever since her appearance in the first-ever NCAA National Championship game. She has guided teams to 25 of the 32 NCAA Tournaments, including 10-straight from 2003-2012
