The Sacred Heart University women's basketball coaching staff took part in the WBCA Cold Water Challenge on Wednesday afternoon, benefiting the Kay Yow Foundation. Jessica Mannetti, Lisa Etienne and Will Ingersoll accepted the challenge and were dunked with ice cold water, while sitting next to Big Red in front of the William H. Pitt Center.

Manetti was challenged by American University head coach Megan Gebbia, Etienne by Nikki Flores, also of American, and Ingersoll was challenged by Meg Griffin at Princeton.

The Cold Water Challenge is raising money for Play 4 Kay. WBCA members challenge fellow coaches, after being doused themselves, and share the video with the hashtags, #Chillin4Charity and #Play4Kay, on social media platforms. Each coach that participates makes a donation to the Kay Yow Foundation based on how if they accept the challenge and then on how many of those they challenge participate.

Among those doing the dousing are SHU Executive Director of Athletics Bobby Valentine, head men's basketball coach Anthony Latina, women's head soccer coach Kim Banner and Deputy Director of Athletics Brad Hurlbut.
