Kimmel Named Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week for Second Time in Three Weeks

For the second time in three weeks, Hannah Kimmel (Harpursville, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Player of the Week. This marks the third straight week that a Pioneer has received the honor. Kimmel powered the Pioneers to a pair of road wins against teams from the top half of the NEC standings. The do-it-all small forward accounted for 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest during the two-game trip down to the Garden State and back north through the Ocean State. Kimmel started the swing by leading five Sacred Heart scorers in double figures in an 80-65 triumph over Fairleigh Dickinson. Earning BAYER Player of the Game honors for the featured contest on ESPN3, the junior forward tallied 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. The performance in North Jersey marked the 14th consecutive outing during which Kimmel scored in double digits. She extended that streak to 15 games two days later in the #NECWBB on ESPN3 Wildcard Matchup. In a battle between the top-two teams in the league standings, Kimmel produced a game-high 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals. She scored seven points over the decisive final 6:33 of the fourth quarter. Kimmel connected at a 58.3 percent rate from inside the arc last week while sinking 92.3 percent of her free throws.
