Three Pioneers Honored With NEC Awards

The Sacred Heart Women's Basketball team was honored with a number of awards to conclude the NEC Regular season. The Pioneers finished the season with a 16-13 record, and second place in the NEC with a record of 13-5. The Pioneers open up the 2017 NEC Tournament Sunday as they take on St. Francis Brooklyn at 1:00pm.

 

Katherine Haines                  RS-Sophomore           Forward         Ridgefield Park, NJ

Most Improved Player / All NEC Second Team Selection

 

Katherine Haines was named the 2017 Most Improved Player, and selected to the second team. Haines, who missed last season due to an injury, and averaged just 4.0 points per game in her 2014-15 season, finished the regular season this year averaging 12.9 points per game, and led the Pioneers in rebounds per game with 8.6.

 

Hannah Kimmel                    Senior             Forward         Harpursville, NY

All NEC First Team Selection

 

Hannah Kimmel was named to the 2017 All-NEC first team. Kimmel was named to the first team for the third time in her career, and led the Pioneers with 14.9 points per game to end the regular season. Kimmel was the second leading contributor of rebounds for Sacred Heart averaging 6.7 rebounds per game.

 

Adaysha Williams                  Senior             Guard             LaCrosse, WI

All NEC Third Team Selection

 

Adaysha Williams was named to the 2017 All-NEC third team. Williams led the Pioneers in assists with 107 this season. Adaysha finished the season averaging 10.7 points per game, and 3.7 rebounds per game. Williams was also the second contributor with steals as she registered 39 steals on the season.
