Alisa Apo Earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Honors

FAIRFIELD, Conn (February 5, 2010) - Sacred Heart junior women's basketball player Alisa Apo (Freehold, NJ) was named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Apo was a University Division District 1 Second Team selection.

Apo is the fifth player in program history to be honored by CoSIDA with Academic All-District honors, joining former Pioneers Brooke Kelly (2003), Ashley Kohl (2003 & 2004), Amanda Pape (2006) and Stephanie Ryan (2008).

The junior co-captain is a Business major with a 3.76 grade point average.

This season, Apo leads the team and is fourth in the Northeast Conference at 16.0 points per game. She is second in the league and is 16th in the natio in assists with 129 on the year (5.9 apg).

Apo was the only player from the Northeast Conference to earn Academic All-District honors.
