Pioneer Women's Hoop Adds Fourth Player for 2010-11
May 6, 2010
Sacred Heart women's basketball head coach Ed Swanson announced the signing of Blair Koniszewski (Vienna, VA / Paul VI H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent for the 2010-11 season. Koniszewski joins Ericka Norman (Chino Hills, CA / Chino Hills H.S.), Enjoli Bland (Queen Creek, AZ / Basha H.S.) and Elise Lorenz (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA / Santa Margarita Catholic H.S.) in this year's recruiting class and will join the Pioneers this fall.
Koniszewski is a 5'11" small forward out of Paul VI High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She averaged 16.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game her senior season. Her 103 three-point field goals as a senior lead all players, male and female, in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia metropolitan areas. She was named first team all-conference by the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) and an honorable mention pick of the all-metropolitan team.
She led her team to a school record 23 wins and the Virginia Independent Schools Girl's Basketball Association State Championship for the fourth-straight season. Koniszewski and her teammates advanced to the semifinal of the WCAC for only the second time in eight years and won 12 out of their last 14 games.
In the classroom, Koniszewski is a Senior Honor Roll student-athlete.
"Blair will help our team in all facets of what we want to do," stated Swanson. "Her biggest asset coming in is her ability to shoot the three and help us extend defenses. She has shown the ability to be a great passer with rebounding and she has a great feel for the game. She will be an asset at both ends of the court."
"She has also shown to be solid academically, a great team player and active in the community. Blair will be a terrific asset to the program."
