Nicole Trudell (Coventry, RI) of the women's bowling team claimed her third NEC Rookie of the Week Award this season averaging 20.2 pins per frame last weekend at the Kutztown Invitational. The freshman filled 87.0 percent of frames bowled over the three-day event that featured 13 of the nation's top-20 ranked teams.
Trudell struck on 48.0 percent of her opportunities and picked up 69.0 percent of her spare attempts. Trudell's 211.83 six-game traditional average was fourth-highest of NEC bowler in attendance, 10th overall, and tops amongst NEC freshmen. She posted a 1,271 traditional pinfall as Sacred Heart won five of its six matches on the meet's second day, including victories over No. 16 Norfolk State and No. 17 Delaware State.
