Women’s Bowling Ranked Eighth In Final NTCA Poll

Final NTCA Poll (PDF)

Despite not receiving an invite to the NCAA tournament the Sacred Heart bowling team finished the 2010-11 season eighth in the NTCA coaches' poll.  The Pioneers rounded out the year with a 75-38 overall record and a 20-7 mark in the NEC, good for second in the nation's top conference.  The NCAA tournament field, made up of all at-large bids chosen by the selection committee, features the top seven teams from the coaches' poll along with #10 Sam Houston State.

Sacred Heart has narrowly missed the NCAA tournament in each of the last three seasons.  The 2011 national championship will be decided April 14-16 in Taylor, Michigan at Skore Lanes.  The Northeast Conference sends two teams, 2010 NCAA champion Fairleigh Dickinson and Kutztown, to Michigan in an attempt bring home a second straight title for the NEC.
