Las Vegas, NV - Jackie Carbonetto (Blauvelt, NY) opened day three of the USBC Team USA Trials by rolling 12 straight strikes for her first career 300 game. The SHU junior came in fifth on that day of competition to put her within striking distance for a spot on Junior Team USA, which is guaranteed to the top two junior finishers at the four day trial event. Carbonetto would come in 18th place overall in the 80 bowler field and finished seventh in the junior standings.
Danielle McEwan came in first overall as a junior while Rachael Gittings secured the second automatic spot on Junior Team USA. Carbonetto's total pinfall over the four days was 11 pins higher than Gittings' but the Pioneer righty was ten spots behind her counterpart in the point standings.
Sacred Heart's Nicole Trudell (Coventry, RI) also competed in the trials, finishing 53rd overall.
The Pioneers are currently ranked third in the nation and will kick-off the second semester January 22 at the Viking Classic in Wallingord, CT
