Pioneers Take Decision From Stonehill in Tiebreaker

Nov. 29, 2009

EASTON, MA - The Sacred Heart equestrian team traveled to Stonehill College on November 22 for their last competition of the fall season, taking a close decision from the Skyhawks.

Coming off back-to-back competition weeks, having a few injuries and some members out sick, head coach Sloane Milstein assembled a skeleton crew. Sophomore Adrianna Dattoli had a rough morning that included refusals and falls. However, after three trips around the ring in the jumping phase and much perseverance she scored a point for the team on the flat and also contributed greatly to the raw scores.

Freshman Devan Beaulieu, had a stellar day being the only team member that scored a point in both her jumping and flat phases.

At the end of the day Sacred Heart (597) and Stonehill (584) were tied 4 to 4 in head to head points. Only after a tie breaker, which adds up the raw scores, did Sacred Heart inch out the win.
