  • Kloeckener Named New Sacred Heart University Field Hockey Head Coach

    (Fairfield, CT) - The Sacred Heart University Athletic Department has named Katie Kloeckener the new head coach of the Sacred Heart Field Hockey team. Kloeckener takes over the program after four years as an assistant under Chris Blais, who stepped down after the birth of her second child earlier this spring. Kloeckener served as the team's Interim Head Coach in 2010 with coach Blais out on extended maternity leave.

    (Fairfield, CT) - The Sacred Heart Field Hockey team once again was honored with a Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Academic Team Award. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that have achieved a Team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

Rachel Claroni (Hershey, PA), Mary Altepeter (Chesterfield, MO), Nichole Dobachesky (Medway, MA), Hope Chorzel (St. Louis, MO), and Christine Mace (Norwalk, CT) are all set to join the Pioneer Field Hockey team for next season.
