(New Haven, CT) – Kim Stow (Norwalk, CT) matched her season high with 11 saves, but the Drexel Dragons beat the Sacred Heart Pioneer Field Hockey team 3-0 Friday night at Johnson Field at Yale University.
The Dragons opened the scoring at 19:47 on a goal by Ashley Santee, who took a straight-on shot inside the top of the circle and beat Stow through a heavy screen. Elise DiDonato recorded the assist, as she would on Drexel's second goal as well, setting up Margaux Lourtie for a one-timer from the left side at 30:28. DiDonato would score the Dragons' final goal as well, taking a feed from Santee and breaking away for back-breaking goal less than two minutes into the second half (36:57).
The Pioneers look to rebound at Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. against the Crusaders.
