Richmond, VA – The Pioneers finished in eighth place in the Spider Spring Invitational held at Richmond University on Monday and Tuesday. Sacred Heart finished ahead of all but one of their Northeast Conference rivals in the team competition trailing Central Connecticut State by just one stroke in the final standings.
Michelle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) led the way for the Pioneers with a score of 232 (+16) through three rounds good for an 11th place finish. Carly Bergin (Binghamton, NY) finished seconnd for the Pioneers scoring a 234 (+20) finishing in 17th place overall. Gabrielle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) shot a 238 (+22) for the Pioneers finishing in 27th place. Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, NY) shot a 244 (+28) finishing tied for 38th, Claire McGovern (Escondido, CA) shot a 251 (+35) finishing in 57th, and Jennifer Clinton shot a 265 (+49) over three rounds good for 69th place.
The Pioneers finished in front of St. Francis (PA), Mount St. Mary's, and Robert Morris.
The Pioneers return to the course on April 16th for the University of Hartford Women's Invitational.
