Pioneers in 11th Place After First Round of Hoya Womens Invitational
BEALSVILLE, Md. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team finished the first round of the Hoya Women's Invitational at The Members Club at Four Streams Monday in 11th place, four strokes behind Lehigh.
Freshman Malin Wallhede (Molnlycke, Sweden) was the Pioneers' top finisher, as her seven-over 79 put her in a tie for 27th place. Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) fired an 82 on Monday to put in a tie for 40th. Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and Gabriella Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) had scores of 85 and 86 respectively to round out the Sacred Heart scoring in the first round.
Sacred Heart's team total of 332 put the Pioneers four strokes behind 10th place Lehigh. Campbell leads after the first round with a team score of 299, 11-over par. Penn is second followed by Yale, Seton Hall, and Nova Southeastern.
The final round will be played Tuesday.
