BEALSVILLE, Md. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team finished play in the Hoya Women's Invitational at The Members Club at Four Streams in 11th place after Tuesday's final round.
Freshman Malin Wallhede (Molnlycke, Sweden) and senior Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) each finished tied for 47th overall for the tournament as the Pioneers' top scorers. Wallhede carded a final round 80 on the par-72 course on Tuesday as Carnahan fired an 81, with both golfers posting three-round scores of 249. Gabriella Riber and Jennifer Clinton each had final round scores of 78 on Tuesday to finish with three-round scores of 250 to place tied for 49th.
The Pioneers finished the tournament nine strokes behind Brown for 10th place. Campbell won the team competition with a three-round score of 894, 13 strokes ahead of Yale. Seton Hall was third followed by Nova Southeastern and Penn that tied for fourth place.
Sacred Heart is back in action April 14-15 at the Brown Bear Invitational at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, R.I.
