Sacred Heart in 17th Place After Opening Round Of Lady Pirate Invitational

BEDMINSTER, N.J. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team finished the opening round of the Lady Pirate Invitational in 17th place at Trump National Golf Club on Saturday.

Senior Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) was the Pioneers' low scorer on Saturday, posting a 91 on the par-72 course to finish the day tied for 68th. Ellen Nighbor (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) carded a 94 to put her tied for 78th. Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass.) finished the day tied for 82nd after posting a 97. Stephanie Lowe (Cedar Park, Texas) rounded out the Sacred Heart scoring group with a 99, putting her 85th in the individual competition.

Sacred Heart recorded a team score of 381 on Saturday, putting the Pioneers 16 shots behind Bucknell for 16th place. Princeton leads the team competition with a team score of 320, two strokes ahead of Columbia. Penn, Yale, and the hosts Seton Hall round out the top five.

The final round takes place Sunday morning.
