WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The Sacred Heart women's golf team competed in the Kingsmill Women's Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill resort on Tuesday afternoon. SHU finished the three-round tournament with a team score of 938 to tie for 14th place.
Senior Ellen Nighbor led the Pioneers scoring group as she finished tied for 10th with a score of +9. Nighbor picked up five birdies over the three-round tournament. Sophomore Chelsea Sedlar finished tied for 49th with a three-round score of +18. Alejandra Perez placed tied for 80th after finishing the tournament 25-over par. Senior Stephanie Lowe battled back with a 77 in the final round to finish tied for 95th at 29-over par. Junior Abigail Hood also finished tied for 95th at 29-over par as well to round out the scoring group.
Ball State took home the team title at 36-over par. Delaware and tournament host, William & Mary finished tied for second at +37. The Pioneers finished tied for 14th with NEC foe, Wagner with a team score of 938. Six strokes behind them in 16th place was Fairleigh Dickinson.
The Pioneers return to the links on Sunday when they compete in the Wagner Seahawk Spring Invitational at Quail Valley Golf Club in Littletown, Pa.
