Women's Hockey Pushes Up for Wounded Warrior Project; Captains Named for 2011-'12

NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. - This Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team participated in the Wounded Warrior Project Push-Ups for Charity event, hosted by Mike Brouchard of MB Sports Training.

The Pioneer players sought sponsorships and pledges based on a per push-up basis and raiser over $1,000.  Sophomore Megan Murphy (Holden, Mass.) was the individual champion after pumping out 98 push-ups in 90 seconds.  Sacred Heart was represented by four of the top five finishers in the women's bracket.

All proceeds went to the Wounded Warrior Project, who's vision is, "to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in the nation's history."  WWP exists for the purpose of raising the public's awareness to the needs of injured service members, help those members, and provide unique and direct programs to meet the needs of its members.
