Third Period Goals Lift Women's Hockey to 3-2 Win Over Oswego State

(Bridgeport, CT) - The Sacred Heart Women's Hockey team used two third-period goals to come from behind for a 3-2 win over Oswego State Friday night at the Wonderland of Ice.

Jocelyn St. Clair opened the scoring for Oswego at 5:30, and Carly Henderson added another at 15:19 to give the Lakers a 2-0 lead after.  However, SHU received a fortuitous bounce for a goal between the Lakers goaltender Megan Amlingers' feet.  The goal was credited to Brianna Connolly (Duxbury, MA), with Natasha Klinoff (Concord, MA) getting the assist.

Oswego State outshot SHU 16-6 in the second period, but Alexius Schut (Elk River, MN) stopped every shot the rest of the way for a game-total of 36 saves.

Tara Kent (Glenview, IL) tied the game 1:32 into the final period, with Nicole Palazzo (Rocky Hill, CT) setting her up.  Alex Davis (Pembroke, MA) scored the game-winning goal for SHU at 6:30 of the third, with Connolly and Klinoff getting their second points of the game on the assists.

The Pioneers host the Lakers again Saturday afternoon at the Wonderland of Ice, with faceoff scheduled for 2:00 pm.
