(Bridgeport, CT) – The Sacred Heart Women's Hockey team lost 6-1 to the Penn State Nittany Lions, settling for a split of two-game weekend series at the Wonderland of Ice.
Taylor Gross scored the first of three power play goals for Penn State to open the scoring six minutes into the game, with Shannon Yoxheimer and Madison Smiddy picking up the assists. Two minutes later, Yoxheimer sniped a high hard wrist shot under the crossbar for another power play goal, with Gross and Emily Laurenzi assisting this time.

Penn State answered about eight minutes later, once again on the power play, as Jeannette Bateman knocked down a clearing attempt at the blue line and skated in for an unassisted goal at 12:00.
The Nittany Lions skated away with the game behind three unanswered third-period goals. Jess Desorcie and Hannah Hoenshell scored 26 second apart a little more than five minutes into the third. Jordin Paroski added another at 18:21.
