SHU Shut Out by RIT, 6-0

Rochester, NY - The Sacred Heart women's hockey team let up four third period goals and was shutout for the second straight game, 6-0, to the RIT Tigers. The Pioneers were swept by RIT this weekend by a total score of 17-0 in the two games. The Pioneers drop to 11-11-2 on the season, while RIT improves to 12-10-3.

Elesha Fortuna got things started for the Tigers, finding the back of the net at 16:29 of the first period. Fortuna was assisted on the play by Kim Schlattman and Lindsay Grigg. RIT would go on to find the net again in the second period and then rally for four more in the third to end any chance for a SHU comeback.

The Pioneers hope to bounce back from a tough weekend when they return home for a two game series against Franklin Pierce starting on the 25th.
