Ladner, Hanna, and Klinoff Named Women's Hockey Captains

FAIRFIELD, Conn – Sacred Heart Head Women's Hockey Coach Tom O'Malley has announced that Senior Catie Ladner (Chaska, MN) , senior Sara Hanna (Lino Lakes, MN), and junior Natasha Klinoff (Concord, MA) will serve as captains for the Pioneers this season. Ladner will wear the red C, while Hanna and Klinoff will serve as assistant captains.

"I am extremely excited for Catie, Natasha, and Sara to lead our team this season," said Coach O'Malley. "All three have been extremely dedicated to our program since they arrived on campus at Sacred Heart and will serve as great leaders for us on and off the ice".

Ladner has appeared in 88 games in her three plus years wearing a Pioneer uniform. The senior defenseman has racked up 23 assists (team high 15 last season), and four goals. Ladner served as an assistant captain last season.

"Catie is a player that has been an integral part of what we have been doing here at Sacred Heart. She is someone that other players can rely on day in and day out to work hard and do the right thing. She has shown a knack for making big plays and I am really happy for her," said Coach.

Hanna is the most experienced Pioneer on this year's team, having appeared in 92 games in her three years. The Minnesota native has racked up 15 goals and 16 assists.

"Sara is a great presence for us on the ice and off. We can always rely on her to have a good influence on her teammates and coaches. I believe she will have a great senior season," Coach commented.

Klinoff has appeared in 62 games as a Pioneer, recording 10 goals and 15 assists. The junior forward registered an even +/- last season in 33 games played.

"Natasha is a go-to player for us and always seems to make big plays when we need them most. She is respected by all her teammates and shows great heart on the ice. I expect a very successful season for Natasha," Said Coach O'Malley.

The 2-0 Pioneers are in action next on November 2nd when they travel to take on the Saint Anselm Hawks.
