BRIDGEPORT, Conn - The Sacred Heart Pioneers let up three second period goals Friday night on their way to a 4-0 loss at the hands of the Willams College Ephs at the Wonderland of Ice. Sacred Heart falls to 3-6-3 on the season, while Williams improves to 3-4.
Williams had four different players put in a goal, starting with Michaela Levine putting the Ephs up 1-0 at 18:06 of the first period. Talia Simon and Caitlin Conlon notched the assists. That would be the first of two assists for Conlon, who would also help out on Ephs' third goal, feeding Emily Krueger for the tally at 16:21 of the second.
Senior captain Catie Ladner (Chaska, MN) led the Pioneers with five shots on goal. Senior goaltender Alexius Schutt (Elk River, MN) made 27 saves, while Amanda Fontaine (Northfield, MA) added 13 stops.
Sacred Heart was outshot by Willams, 44-18.
The Pioneers are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host the Salve Regina Seahawks at the Wonderland of Ice at 2:00 pm.
