Women's Ice Hockey Host Team China On Sunday

Fairfield, Conn.- The Sacred Heat Women's Ice Hockey team will host Team China's preliminary Olympic Team on Sunday in preparation for the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.

"The team, our athletic trainers, and the coaching staff are very excited, and honored to be able to play this game.  We have been working very hard on the ice, and in the weight room in preparation, and we will be ready," said Coach O'Malley.
 
"The opportunity to play The Olympic Team from China does not just happen every day, and this will be an experience that our players will never forget. This is great for our players, their families, our program, our alumni,  the athletic department, and Sacred Heart University. We are very Happy to be playing China, as they prepare for the XXIII Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea."
 
Coming off a a very successful 2016-17 season (20-9-2) Pioneers Head Coach O'Malley was contacted by Rob Morgan, one of the Chinese Olympic Team coaches to make the game happen.
 
The action will get underway Sunday October 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at The Sports Center of Connecticut.
