MIDDLETOWN, CT - Junior forward Lauren Fontaine (Windsor, ON) netted her first hat trick of the season as the Sacred Heart women's ice hockey team registered a 4-2 victory over Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Pioneers to 6-16-1 on the season, while the Cardinals fell to 3-15-1.
Fontaine put SHU on the board first with a goal, the 50th of her career, 14:01 into the contest off of assists from senior Kate Dunlop (Flesherton, ON) and sophomore Jennifer Burroughs (Raleigh, NC). She notched her second goal of the day on a breakaway, off a feed from sophomore Tara Kent (Glenview, IL), early in the third stanza. Wesleyan answered with an unassisted goal one minute later by junior Alex Bean.

Fontaine capped off her day by collecting her third goal for the hat trick with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Dunlop and Hartman both assisted on the goal.
