Setting the Scene...  Sacred Heart hits the road for a weekend series at SUNY Potsdam. Game one will be played at 7:00pm on Friday, while the second on Saturday at 2:00 pm.


About Sacred Heart... Junior forward Lauren Fontaine and sophomore forward Nicole Palazzo lead the Pioneers in scoring with one goal and two assists apiece. Freshman goaltender Emily Siira has posted a .859 save percentage and 5.18 goals against average through two games, while sophomore Raelene Sydor sports a .774 save percentage and 11.09 GAA.


Scouting the Bears... Potsdam enters this weekend with a 2-1 record, including wins over Salve Regina and Oswego State. Sophomore Stephanie Malcolm leads the Bears with one goal and two assists. Senior goaltender Hilary Hitchman has started all three games and owns a .947 save percentage and 1.51 GAA.


Last Time Out... SHU defeated the University of Rhode Island, 6-2, in an exhibition game on October 24. Sophomore defender Caitlin Gottwald led the Pioneer attack with a hat trick.  Classmates Nicole Palazzo and Lauren Towers recorded a goal and an assist each.


Life on the Road... The Pioneers have played all five of their games away from the Wonderland of Ice and look forward to returning to Bridgeport after this weekend for the home opener vs. Holy Cross on November 18.


Looking Ahead... After Sacred Heart faces off against Holy Cross for their first home game of the season the Pioneers head to Storrs, CT for the Nutmeg Classic on Thanksgiving weekend.  The Nutmeg Classic is hosted by the University of Connecticut and played at the Mark Edwards Freitas Ice Forum.  The Pioneers will take on Yale University on Friday November 27 at 4:00, while the Huskies will play Quinnipiac at 7:00.  The winners will meet for the championship on Saturday at 7:00 and the losers will face off in the consolation game at 4:00.
