Women’s Lacrosse Falls At Wagner 17-5

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart women's lacrosse team lost 17-5 to the Wagner Seahawks at Hameline Field Friday afternoon.

Caitlin Delaney led the Pioneers with two goals, three points, and six draw controls. Alyssa Pearce, Kerri Metzler, and Paige Devine each scored a goal.

Wagner (4-10, 2-2 NEC) opened the game on an 11-0 run in the first 19:50, with Lauren Ednie scoring four goals. Sacred Heart's (4-9, 2-2 NEC) lone goal in the first half came from Delaney at the 8:26 mark. Delaney also scored to open the second half, making the score 12-2. Metzler scored with 25:43 left in the game to keep the deficit at 10, 13-3.

The Pioneers play their final road game of the regular season Sunday at Mount St. Mary's. Gametime is 1 p.m.
