Women’s Lacrosse Named A 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's lacrosse program has been named a 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the 2016-17 academic year.

To qualify, a program must have a 3.0 team grade point average or higher for the academic year. Three hundred schools across all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA earned the honor.

The Pioneers also had 10 student-athletes named to the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. Dominique Anselmin (Biology), Brenna Betsch (Marketing/Sports Management), Kylie Calandra (Exercise Science), Samantha Carpinello (Psychology), Emily Corrice (Health Science), Erin Coutts (Health Science), Paige DeVine (Accounting), Liana Doyle (Nursing), Averi Farhat (Business Management), Alyssa Pearce (Health Science) all earned the honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

SHU reached the NEC women's lacrosse tournament for the second consecutive season in 2017, posting a record of 6-11.
