Carissa Hauser Named NEC Player of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 22, 2010) - Sacred Heart senior Carissa Hauser (East Northport, NY) was named the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week announced by the league on Monday. It is Hauser's second award this season.
Hauser notched 12 points (eight goals, four assists) and 10 draw controls last week to lead the Pioneers to conference wins over CCSU and Bryant. Hauser turned in her third five-goal game of the season on just seven shots in Friday's 18-3 win over the Blue Devils, while adding a pair of assists, four draws, a caused turnover and a ground ball. Hauser then posted three goals, two assists, six draw controls and two ground balls in a 17-8 triumph over Bryant on Sunday. The East Northport, NY native is the NEC leader in goals per game (3.43), points per game (5.57) and draw controls (4.29/game), and ranks second in assists (2.14).
The Pioneers and Hauser are back in action on Friday afternoon at Wagner.
