Women’s Rowing Wraps Up Fall Schedule at Fall Metropolitan Championships

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart women's rowing team wrapped up its fall season on Saturday at the Fall Metropolitan Championships hosted by Iona. The Pioneers had four crews compete with two earning top-three finishes.

The Novice 8+ crew of Christina Fratto (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), Megan Smith (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), Megan McMenimen (Arlington, Mass.), Karina Suszynski (Milton, Mass.), Samantha O'Brien (Trumbull, Conn.), Meghan Maguire (Patterson, N.Y.), Kimberly D'Adamo (Bronx, N.Y.), Christie Colucci (Danbury, Conn), and coxswain Sarah Venuti (Arlington, Mass.) won their race on the 2,000M course. The Novice 4+ team of Fratto, Smith, McMenimen, Suszynski, and Venuti finished in second place.

The Varsity 8+ boat comprised of Jillian Gray (Andover, Mass.), Jaclyn Smith (Williston Park, N.Y.), Fratto, Taylor Langon (Kingston, N.Y.), Erika Doyle (Middle Village, N.Y.), Morgan Clemente (Bayonne, N.J.), Kaitlyn Blanda (Huntington, N.Y.), Gerelyn Garcia (Dumont, N.J.) and coxswain Christina Pesci (Nutley, N.J.) posted a fourth-place finish. The Varsity 4+ crew of Lott, Gray, Doyle, Jaclyn Smith, and Pesci also finished fourth.
