Women’s Rowing Posts Two Top-Three Finishes On First Day Of Sacred Heart Invitational

SHELTON, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's rowing team had two top-three finishes Saturday on the first day of the Sacred Heart Invitational in Shelton.

The Pioneers opened the day with the Women's Novice 4 crew of Christina Fratto, Megan Smith, Megan McMenimen, Meghan Maguire, and Lauren Dufresne finishing third in a time of 10:24.80. The Women's Varsity Four of Catherine Lott, Allison McCusker, Kaitlyn Blanda, Jaclyn Smith, and Christina Pesci won its opening heat by 3.7 seconds over Fordham with a time of 9:02.20. Sacred Heart then finished fifth in the final. The Novice 8 boat placed fourth in its race, and the Varsity 8 was sixth in a very fast race, posting a time of 9:05.64.

The Invitational continues Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
