    TUCSON, Ariz. - Sacred Heart rugby assistant coach, Jennifer Salomon, recently made history as a member of the New York Rugby Club. On Sunday, November 17, NYRC became the first team to ever win three Women’s Premier League (WPL) championships as the squad knocked off the Glendale Merlins in a 27-26 thrilling victory. Both of New York’s wins in Tucson were recorded in a come-from-behind fashion making this year’s hardware that much more remarkable.

    FAIRFIELD, Conn. – In their fall home finale, the Sacred Heart women’s rugby team fell to American International University, 69-15, Saturday afternoon at Park Avenue Field. The Yellow Jackets, who were most recently ranked sixth in the NIRA Coaches Poll, controlled the contest from start to finish benefitting from five different goal scorers. The loss settles the Pioneers’ autumn slate at 4-3 while the Yellow Jackets pause at 3-5.

    CASTLETON, Vt. – The Sacred Heart women’s rugby team benefitted from seven different scorers en route to their 67-22 road defeat of Castleton, Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Pioneers have now beaten the Spartans twice this season and improve to 4-2 on the year. The host drop to 0-7-1.

    Sacred Heart Women’s Rugby Head Coach Michelle Reed announced the Pioneers' 2017 schedule on Wednesday. The Pioneers will open the season on the new Park Avenue Field on Friday, September 1 at 3 p.m. against Castleton.
