Women's Soccer Opens NEC Tournament Friday vs. Saint Francis (PA)
Friday kicks off a weekend of soccer in Loretto, Penn. as the Northeast Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament begins. The Pioneers enter tournament play for the first time in four years against the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash Friday at noon.
The Sacred Heart Pioneers are coming off two wins at home to close out the regular season. It was a must-win weekend for the Pioneers who have not been in the NEC Tournament since 2007. They played a very aggressive offense in both games, outshooting the opponents 37-8.
They plan to be on the attack again Friday against the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash. When the two teams met earlier this year on September 30th in Loretto, the Red Flash shutout the Pioneers 2-0, however Sacred Heart outshot Saint Francis (PA) 14-7.
