ALBANY, NY - Senior Britney Dupee (Portland, ME) and sophomore Leigh Dogmanits (Walnutport, PA) each scored goals, while sophomore keeper Meghan Reichelt (Selden, NY) made seven saves to help the women's soccer team tie Siena, 2-2, in the first game of the University at Albany tournament Friday afternoon.
Sacred Heart, 0-7-1, got on the board first when Dupee scored 11:18 into the game off a corner kick by Alex Mack (Freeport, ME) and a pass from Lindsey Elliott (Orange, CT). Siena, 4-0-1, evened the game in the 37th minute on an unassisted goal by Cara Riley on a direct kick from 30 yards away.
After playing the rest of the first half scoreless, SHU took the lead late in the second when Dogmanits got an unassisted goal in the 76th minute. Five minutes later Riley got her second of the game to knot the score again.
Siena outshot the Pioneers 7-1 in the overtime but Reichelt kept them off the board to end the game in the tie. Overall, Siena outshot the Pioneers 29-15.
The Pioneers will face the host school on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
