Sacred Heart Swimming Knocked Off by C.W. Post

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University swimming team fell to non-conference opponent C.W. Post 120-82, Saturday afternoon.  Senior Katie Marshall (Cumberland, R.I.) was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 5:21.76.

Freshman Amy Nunes (Seekonk, Mass.) took home a win in the 1000-free with a time of 11:02.11.

In the 400-yard individual medley, junior Meghan Bailey (Walpole, Mass.) and freshman Nicole Del Nero (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) placed two and three.  Bailey hit the wall in 4:49.67, while Del Nero made it in 4:51.65.

Junior Laurie Casado (Queens, N.Y.) finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.64.  In the 100-backstroke, freshman Hayley McGill (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Bailey finished second and third.  McGill completed the event in 1:04.71, while Bailey swam it in 1:06.00.

The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday when they visit Northeast Conference foe Central Connecticut.
