SHU Swimming Announces 2013-14 Captains

Fairfield, Conn. (June 26, 2013)—Head Coach Brent Noble seniors announces Amy Nunes (Seekonk, Mass.), Emily Nunes (Seekonk, Mass.), Hayley McGill (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Lizzy Bennett (Fairbanks, Alaska) as captains of the Sacred Heart Swim Team for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

McGill and Bennett have both set school records in their previous three years at SHU. In her freshman season, McGill was the anchor of the 400 freestyle relay team that set a school record coming in at 3:40.71. The next year, she and Bennett made up half of the team that set the 800 freestyle relay record with a time of 7:57.38. Last season, Bennett swam the third leg of the 200 and 400 medley relays that broke school records coming in at 1:49.51 and 4:01.05 respectively.

The Pioneers will open the season on October 11 at St. Francis Brooklyn.
