Sacred Heart Records 7-0 Win over Siena

WEST HAVEN, Conn – The Sacred Heart women's tennis team earned the doubles point and dropped just one singles set, on their way to a 7-0 win over Siena Sunday afternoon at the Yale Tennis Center.  The Pioneers improve to 2-3 on the season.

With victories from duo Katie DeRienzo (Douglaston, NY) and Gabi Kaldan (New Brunswick, NJ), as well Paige Olson (Sykesville, MD) and Lindsey Post (Danbury, CT), the Pioneers were able to win the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.

In singles action, the Pioneers dropped just one set in winning all six matches. DeRienzo impressed at the number one spot with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Carly Holloway.  Olson and Ali Garrity played the most competitive match of the afternoon, with Olson coming through 11-9 in a deciding super tiebreaker.

Sacred Heart returns to action on February 22nd when they take on the Saint Francis University Red Flash at Yale University.
