Pioneers Fall 6-1 at Fairleigh Dickinson

Teaneck, NJ – Senior Gabi Kaldan (New Brunswick, NJ) earned victories in singles and doubles but it wasn't enough as the two-time defending NEC champion, Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, defeated Sacred Heart 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the FDU Tennis Center. The Pioneers fall to 2-1 in the NEC this season and 5-7 overall.

Kaldan, alongside partner Katie DeRienzo (Douglaston, NY), defeated Ksenija Tibomirova and Gisela Castany 8-5 in doubles action, and then at second singles, Kaldan won a hard fought three-setter over Shreya Pasricha, 7-5, 2-6, 11-9. Kaldan completed a 4-0 weekend after a pair of wins against Robert Morris on Friday.

Up next, the Pioneers welcome Rhode Island to the Sacred Heart tennis courts on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 pm.
