Women's Tennis Falls 6-1 At Quinnipiac

The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 non-conference decision to host Quinnipiac University Sunday afternoon in Hamden, Conn.  The loss drops the Pioneers to 5-10 overall, while the Bobcats improve to 6-10.

Nicole Rydzewski earned the Pioneers lone point at number-five singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Mary Chupa. The win extended her personal win streak in singles to four matches.

Rydzewski teamed with Katie DeRienzo at number two doubles, dropping a hard fought match, 8-7 (9) to Jacqueline Raynor and Michelle Dassa. Raynor defeated Gabriela Kaldan, 6-2, 6-2 at number two singles. DeRienzo saw her singles win streak come to an end with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Sophia Dzulynsky at number one singles. 

The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday at Providence.
