Moon Township, Penn.—Karly Shockey (Chino Hills, Calif.) led the match with 21 kills, but the Sacred Heart Women's Volleyball team fell in four sets to Robert Morris. Once again, errors plagued the Pioneers as they outkilled the Colonials 59-44.
Robert Morris dominated the first set, with SHU only getting a lead extremely early 4-3. The Pioneers were never able to slow down the charging Colonials as they went on the claim the first set 25-17.Sacred Heart tied the match, taking the second set 25-23. With the score tied at five, Johanna Ovsenek (London, On.) recorded a kill to give the Pioneers the lead. Megan Pulone's (Diamond Bar, Calif.)service run boosted SHU to a lead 10-5. The Colonials came back to tie the set four times late, but Alisa Mesa's (Long Beach, Calif.) three-point service run was enough to charge the Pioneers to the win.
That was the only set Sacred Heart managed however, as Robert Morris took the next two sets 25-22 and 25-21. The loss drops the Pioneers to 9-19 this season and 7-7 against Northeast Conference opponents. SHU continues the road trip tomorrow against Saint Francis (PA).
