FAIRFIELD, CONN. (November 2, 2014)—For the second consecutive match, Sarah Krufka (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) led the Pioneers with 11 kills as the Sacred Heart women's volleyball team fell to LIU Brooklyn 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-17) Sunday afternoon in the William H. Pitt Center. The loss drops SHU to 8-16 on the season and 3-8 in Northeast Conference play.
Rookie Makayla Dole (Cypress, Calif.), who tallied a career-best three solo blocks, and Krufka accounted for 22.5 points of SHU's 38 points with 11 and 11.5 respectively.
The Pioneers took the opening points of each set holding brief leads over the conference-leading Blackbirds, but LU rallied back every time overcoming the deficit to reclaim the lead.
Sacred Heart heads to Fairleigh Dickinson Sunday, November 9 for its final road game of the season.
