Women's Volleyball Splits Pair of Matches at Dartmouth

HANOVER, NH - Junior Courtney Kidd-Kadlubek (Santa Barbara, CA) and freshman Elise Sage (Aurora, CO) were named to the Dartmouth Invitational All-Tournament team as the Pioneer women's volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday to finish 2-1 in the tournament.
The Pioneers, now 7-6, opened Saturday by dropping a 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 20-25) decision to Northeastrn. Sophomore Ashlyn Trimble (Temecula, CA) led the Pioneer attack with 12 kills, also recording eight digs and three block assists. Sage finished with nine kills without making an error, hitting a cool .600.
In a non-conference match against NEC rival Central Connecticut State, SHU swept the Blue Devils 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 25-17). Four Pioneers recorded double figures in kills, led by 13 from Trimble who also had eight digs. Sophomore Brittany Best (Norco, CA) had a double double with 11 kills and 11 digs.
Sophomore Maile Hetherington (Thousand Oaks, CA) and freshman Johanna Ovesenek (London, Ontario) rounded out the quartet of double-digit killers with 11 and ten respectively.
Kidd-Kadlubek had 36 assists in the win over Central and 27 against Northeastern. She chalked up 50 of them Friday night in a win over host Dartmouth.
