HAMDEN, CT - Freshman Elise Sage (Greenwood Village, CO) had seven kills without committing an error and sophomore Brittany Best had a team-high ten kills to lead the SHU women's volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-12) win at Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon.
The win gives the Pioneers a 21-9 overall record and an 11-3 mark in the Northeast Conference. It also clinched a playoff spot for the Pioneers, who are currently sitting in second place. Quinnipiac falls to 3-25 and 2-13.
The Pioneers ripped off 13 service aces in the match, including five from Ashlyn Trimble (Temecula, CA). Trimble leads the NEC in that category and the team leads all of Division I in aces.
Kelby Carey led the Bobcats with seven kills.
