Sage Wins NEC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week Honors

FAIRFIELD, CT - Freshman Elise Sage (Greenwood Village, CO) was named the Northeast Conference women's volleyball Rookie of the Week today, after helping the Pioneers to a 2-1 weekend.

The outside hitter had 26 kills, 11 digs, six assists, three aces, and four block assists and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Dartmouth Invitational. There she hit an impressive .412 in the three matches. In a 3-1 win over Dartmouth, Sage had 12 kills, three digs and four block assists. Despite losing the match to Northeastern 3-0,

Sage was a force on offense tallying nine kills without committing an error and hit a whopping .600. In a 3-0 win over Central Connecticut State the freshman added five more kills and a pair of assists. She has started all 13 matches for the Pioneers and leads them in hitting percentage at .286 making just 22 errors in those 13 matches with 75 kills.
