SHU Cross Country Runs at NCAA Regional Championship

2009 NCAA Regional Championship Results

Boston, Mass. (November 14, 2009) - The Sacred Heart cross country teams were back in action Saturday afternoon running at the NCAA Regional Championship at Franklin Park in Boston Saturday afternoon. The SHU women finished 23rd overall and the men were 30th.

The Pioneers top finisher was junior Kimberly DeLoreto (Hillsdale, NJ) 26th in a field of 243 runners. DeLoreto clocked in at 22:58.

Senior Sarah Tencza (Succasunna, NJ) finished in 116th place (24:39) followed by freshman Olivia Civardi (Brightwaters, NY) in 155th (25:19). Fellow freshman Alyssa Selmquist (Northford, CT) finished in 170th place (25:35) and sophomore Sara Pollock (Sandy Hook, CT) rounded out the top-five in 180th at 25:47.

On the men's side, freshman Kent Harlow (Burnt Hills, NY) was the Pioneers top-finisher in 150th place with a time of 34:53. Right on his heels in 151st position was sophomore Jeffrey Lusignan (East Montpelier, VT) in 34:53.

Junior Daniel Koehler (Red Hook, NY) finished in 166th (35:08) with senior Matthew Chorney (Bristol, NH) in 170th (35:13) and sophomore Richard Marcello (Foster, RI) in 187th (35:42).
