Frankie Donahue Promoted To Assistant Athletic Trainer

Sacred Heart University Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Training Leo Katsetos announced the promotion of Frankie Donahue to Assistant Athletic Trainer. Donahue will serve as the athletic trainer for the Pioneers women's basketball team.

"Frankie has impressed administrators, staff, coaches and student-athletes with her professionalism and work ethic during her two years as a graduate assistant," said Katsetos. "We are pleased that she will remain a full-time member of our staff and I am excited to watch her continue to grow in our field and provide high quality care for our student-athletes physical and mental well-being."

Donahue has served as a graduate assistant for the past two seasons in the SHU Athletic Training department. She has served as the head trainer for men's soccer and wrestling. Prior to SHU, Donohue spent a season as an intern at Richmond, working with the Spiders football and track & field programs.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Donahue worked with the Wildcats' football, track & field and field hockey teams. She earned an master's degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition in 2019 from SHU.

Donahue volunteered at the Boston Marathon in 2016 and worked as an intern in her undergrad years at UNH while penning her master's thesis entitled "Prevention of Head Impacts in Football: The Hutt Technique."
