FAIRFIELD, Conn- The Sacred Heart University Women's Rugby team defeated Colby-Sawyer this afternoon by a score of 46-29. The team will compete in its final home game of the season on Saturday Oct. 13 when they host the University of New England. 

Colby Sawyer would be the first team to get on the board as they would score a try at 6:30 in the first half to give the Chargers a 5-0 lead. Just six minutes later the Pioneers would score their first try of the game as Allie Rinaldi would find the touchline to even the score up at 5-5. A conversion by Kaylee Hale would put SHU ahead 7-5. After the Chargers found the touchline again at 14:07 to give Colby-Sawyer a 10-7 lead, Isabel Cuddy would score her first try of the game off an assist by Grace De Poortere and Tyffany Brisbane to give SHU a 12-10 lead. Cuddy would score two more tries in the first half to give the Pioneers a 24-10 lead heading into halftime. 

Just :36 seconds into the second half the Chargers would attempt a comeback as they would find the touchline to narrow the score to 24-15. But Cuddy would find the touchline for the fourth time off an assist by Allie Rinaldi to increase the Pioneers lead to 29-17 at 14:30. Cuddy would complete her day with a total of five tries on the afternoon. Tyffany Brisbane and Kaitlin Lagase each scored a try respectively to eventually give the Pioneers the 46-29 victory over the Chargers.
